Thali is a great concept of Indian foods. In thali concept, you can get a low cost full meal. The state of West Bengal was originally the larger state of Bengal, of which part of it is present day Bangladesh.
Ingredients of Bengali breakfast special thali
- Prepare 250 gram of all purpose flour.
- You need 400 gram of Potatoes.
- It's 2 of tomatoes chopped.
- It's 1/2 cup of whole moong dal.
- It's 2 of sweet Potatoes.
- Prepare 1 bunch of coriander leaves.
- It's 1 tablespoon of kasuri methi crush.
- You need 4 of parwals.
- It's 1 teaspoon of jeera powder.
- Prepare 1 teaspoon of red chilli Powder.
- Prepare 1 tablespoon of dhaniya powder.
- Prepare 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder.
- You need 1 teaspoon of jeera seeds.
- It's 1 teaspoon of nigella seeds.
- It's To taste of salt and sugar.
- Prepare As needed of oil.
Bengali breakfast special thali step by step
- At first knead the flour with salt and oil and keep aside.
- Now boil the Potatoes and peel off.
- Boil the whole moong daal and sweet potato.
- In a pan add ghee and temper the jeera seeds.
- Add moong daal and sweet potato cubes.
- Saute well adding salt and turmeric powder.
- Add sugar,tomato and mix well.
- Add kasuri methi and remove from oven.
- Now add oil in the same pan temper kalonji seeds.
- Saute boiled Potatoes adding salt and turmeric powder.
- Add ginger paste,saute well.
- Now add all the masalas saute well.
- Add tomato mix well and cover.
- Finally add sugar mix well.
- Garnish it with kasuri methi and coriander leaves.
- Now peel off the parwals roughly and marinate with salt and turmeric powder.
- Add oil in the pan and deep fry the parwals,keep aside.
- Now take small portion of the kneaded dough and roll into round shape with a rolling pin.
- Deep fry these and serve along with dum aloo,sweet potato moong daal fry,fried parwal and a piece of date palm jaggery.
